DJ Premier was given Classical and began his immersion into the genre with Bruce Adolphe, a former classical music professor at Juilliard. They met at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music not far from DJ Premier’s home in NY. After learning about classical music theory, the inspirations of some of the genre’s most profound composers and how traditional pieces are structured, DJ Premier went out and bought tons of classical symphonies on vinyl to mash up his own creation. We then took that mash-up and orchestrated it for sheet music. In the first step of the actual recording process, DJ Premier partnered with Stephen Webber, a professor and conductor at the Berklee College of Music. Steven taught Premier how to conduct and helped him in studio with the 58-piece Berklee Symphony Orchestra you hear on the track. Of all the takes, the one you hear is the “wild” version (which means they recorded it without the metronome in their headphones) DJ Premier conducted himself. Then DJ Premier brought that instrumental track back home to NY and Nas laid down his rhyme on top of it.
Mp3 came out the other day, but here's the visual. The track will not be on the upcoming "Revival" project. At least this video has some decent production, unlike that last in-studio video he dropped. Maybe its just me, but videos are supposed to be entertaining... right?
Coming November 29th and featuring their CEO Curren$y, this album is not going to disappoint. Spitta has been standing behind his Jet Life signees and really building his label with the recent singing of Smoke Dza and Sir Michael Rocks. The Jets will soon be a force to be reckoned with. Be on the look out for the first single from "Jet Life" coming soon.
Donnis finally comes up for air and lets all the fans know that he's still alive and well. Donnis speaks with Three Little Digs about working on his upcoming project with Fools Gold, entitled "SouthernFuturisticFerrariThumpMuzik" EP. Damn son! Bout time. According to Donnis, we can look forward to some videos being released soon.

Kids These Days: Transition from Ruby Hornet on Vimeo.
The guys over at RH sat down with Nico, Vic, and Liam of Kids These Days to talk about there development as artists in the hip-hop community. Great look for these talented kids. They have a different sound, and may not even be mainstream worthy, but all the true fans of music will get them!
“A year ago, Kids These Days were a buzzing band of high school students. Today, they are on the verge of national breakout success, racking up features in outlets such as MTV, and The New York Times. In this new RH video, KTD’s Vic Mensa, Liam Cunningham, and Nico Segal talk about the band’s transition to full-time musicians, and the commitment they’ve made to the music, and most importantly, to each other.”

If you don;t know Tech, this is a great introduction. I've been lucky enough to meet dude several times, see his crazy live shows many times, and have been a real fan for years. Tech has done his thing all on his own, he should be an inspiration to anyone trying to do anything. If you keep at it and put in the effort, you'll make it!
