Stream only, pre-order DJ Drama's new album "Third Power" on iTunes
Mach Five, a duo from Atlanta, drop a free offering from the Bluroc camp. I'm excited about everything DD172 and Bluroc are doing. Lots of great artists working together. Reminds me of the good ole' days when we had these hip-hop dynasties. After the jump is the tracklist and download. Only a few features, but one is GLC, and the track is real nice. Check it out!
Ok, so Common never did release that single (Speaking of, did T.I.'s single ever come out? Got the artwork, but kind of behind, so please excuse me), but you can catch one verse after the jump. Commom visits the LA Leakers to premier the verse.
New Mobb Deep EP out on November 25th, Black Friday. They will be in town for the Bassment 9th anniversary party at The Metro Friday October 21st. Should be nothing short of legendary.

This track is featured on his recent "Reasonablematic" project. The whole tape is sick. G.o.D Jewels has just got this slow story telling type flow. Its great music to listen to after a long day, unwind, partake in whatever you enjoy partaking in and chill. Highly recommended!
ProbCause drops off a summer inspired visual from "Stir Fry", reminding us of better days. Damn, I hope this winter goes by quick!
Yesterday Wildstyle hit twitter with some news. The Flict plans on releasing a follow up to the classic, "The Final Tic." I have no other information at this time, but you can expect it to be on its way. After the jump there are some episodes of "The Chronicles of Cold Hard" presented by Midwest Live.
I'll let the Stay Humble fam tell you all about Griffen, if you don't know already. Hit the jump for a tracklist and the download. Support local music!
Determined and steadfast, Griffen is the epitome of persistence and hard work mixed with raw talent. This Chicago-based MC's story is cemented on the mentality that "nothing is impossible if you do whatever it takes to get it!" Being both tenacious and unrelenting, he has worked tirelessly, establishing himself as a credible artist in not only his hometown of Chicago, but also in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Griffen's style is both thought-provoking and intense, bringing Hip-Hop back to its essence with clever, high-caliber lyrics. After inking a deal with Scarface's Facemob Music in 2010, Griffen is readying the public for "Apotheosis," which will be his first album under Facemob.

Illannoyclothing.com. Help support these guys and grab some of their incredibly dope tee shirts and sweatshirts, spread the word about them in your local area, and demand that shops you frequent carry their product. These Vevo Go shows are a really cool idea. They should really have more of these. To have a chance to see some artists that normally sell out arenas in a small random venue would be amazing. Always loved the secret shows.
Last "Wonder Years" leak, the full project is out today. Get it on Amazon
BONUS: "The Wonder Year" film screening @ Columbia College details after the jump.
A visual from "Bankhead Forever"?? Did this video really just come out?
“Pimp C laid his vocals to this record in Oct of 2007, two months before he passed away. It was intended to be the remix to my record “Aint Nobody Trippin”, which had a huge buzz in Houston, but with the untimely death of Pimp we were never able to put the song out through his UGK Records imprint like we intended. So with that being said, its 4 years later & the beat has been revamped into sum 2012 Space Age Pimpin that is already in heavy rotation in the Strip Clubs of Atlanta & Houston.”-Cory Mo
Here, we have a tagless version of one of the stand out tracks from "Industry Night." After the jump, we also have some footage of the release party. A little old, but still dope, wish I could have made it to that one.
A tribute to trees from a couple Chicago MCs. I don't know Swopes, but Sulaiman is the business and the song is real smooth. Good stuff, take a listen.
The highly anticipated, and already leaked J Cole freshman album officially released today. This album should be a must purchase. If the album compares to all of his previous work, it's worth the cash. Please support good music when you find it. We want these artists to continue to make music, as well as thank them for all the free stuff they have provided for us in the past. J Cole is one of those artists that has provided us with several mixtapes, visuals, random singles, and unreleased material for several years now. Now it is time for the consumers to return the favor and go grab this project at iTunes.
And we have the tracklist. No features, so I'm really not that excited to see the list, but now we know to expect 16 dope tracks from Mac's "Blue Slide Park" You can now pre-order the project on iTunes. Hit the jump for the tracklist.
DJ Clue premiered this track sometime yesterday, or perhaps Sunday. Anyway, it is supposed to be on Tyga's "Careless World" project.
Shot at Drake? Take a listen.
Rappers on their Sophomores, actin’ like they boss lords. Fame such a funny thing for sure when n—as start believing all those encores. I’m just the one to send you off, bonjour. See yourself as I pull up in that mirror tint, skins vs blouses, you mirror Prince. Chappelle Show, all them Neal Brennans, sketch comedy, who has for real been in? The talk don’t match the leather, the swag don’t match the sweaters, the wolves don’t walk with shepherds. These Margiela verses all you mob dwellers, off the rack suits looking like pallbearers.-Pusha T

First track to leak from "Habits & Contradictions: A Prelude To Setbacks." Stream only for now.
ScHoolboy Q - Druggys WitH Hoes Again Feat. Ab-Soul by Mixedbyali
Sometimes work really gets in the way! Really pissed I missed this show. It's not everyday that Blackstar performs, and hearing this song live is even more rare. Glad we have a video of the historical event, even though it is pretty bad quality.

Another visual off "Cole World: The Sideline Story." It's actually one of the bonus tracks. You can pre-order the album on iTunes for its Tuesday release.

I really hope DMX takes advantage of this last hope and puts out some more good music. The track is dope, he looks healthy, not bad for his first go at the whole music video thing since prison. Stay out of trouble X.
Kansas MC, XV, pays homage to those he's lost and attempts to help us appreciate what we all have, while we still have it. The track was featured on XV's most recent "Zero Heros" project.
This AC3 compilation is basically a summary of artists you really should know. The project is two "discs" and includes 45 tracks. I really don't know why people still call say that they are multiple "disc" sets. Who buys hard copies these days anyway? I don't think all the tracks are exclusive to this project, but some definitely are.
BONUS: Rockie Fresh - Spotlight
Rockie Fresh "Spotlight" off A3C Volume 1 Compilation by clockworkmusic
Again, I don't know shit about Mod Sun, but he has a crazy amount of dope features and the few leaks we have heard so far have been pretty nice. Hit the jump for the tracklist and download.
You may have seen this dude once or twice if you have ever rode the EL in Chicago. Solow is one of the many street performers the frequents the popular downtown stops on the Red and Blue lines mostly. Unlike the constant trash that I am exposed to on a daily basis, I always stop for a moment or two, take my headphones off, and listen to what Solow is talking about. He probably won't be the next big thing, because he seems to be content with the street grind, but he's a great lyricist and if you have the opportunity, check him out.

Sir Michael of Rockingham's new project comes out next Friday at illroots.com. Hit the jump for the tracklist.
FSD x T.E.H.O. interview Common from T.E.H.O. on Vimeo.
FSD Caught up with the man of the week at Roof prior to Common's performance. Hit the jump for the freestyle.
I haven't posted any of Flud Watche's "Beats Per Minute" series. Although the interviews are a cool look into the mind of today's top producers, you gotta draw the line somewhere. araabMuzik has always been so dope to me. His skills are unique and one of my favorite producers.
TAYLOR GANG!! The video is a compilation of what looks to be a ton of live footage. Dope song off "Rolling Papers"
Visual of Red Cafe's "The Cloudz"
Nice interview. I made it to the DePaul book signing last week and shortly after that, Common made it over to Roof on the Wit Hotel for a celebration sponsored by Moet. Chicago was definitely in attendance. A Quick freestyle video from Roof is below.
The folks over at Jugrnaut have incorporated a new series into their blog that allows local DJ friends to swing by the shop, lay down a set, and they will premier that set. I think that this is a great idea, and puts a different spin (literally) on tracks you may or may not have heard.

YP - Still Awake w/DJ Green Lantern + DJ Timbuck2 from Elephilms on Vimeo.
YP sits down with Timbuck2 and DJ Green Lantern to premier "Who I Be" off his latest "Still Awake" project. If you don't already have this... that's fucked up.
Mr. Alexander "DJ RTC" Fruchter explains below why we are just getting this track that was created so long ago.
“This is a record that we recorded almost two years ago now when we did our very first Closed Session with DJ Babu. While we released the record ”Bionic Jaws”, and the accompanying documentary, there was a second record that Babu made with ADaD that kind of got lost in the shuffle. So, with ADaD’s PS…I’m Next about to drop, our ”Natural High” release party coming up with DJ Babu, and a pretty much done new Closed Sessions album featuring Raekwon, CyHi The Prynce, L.E.P., Blu, and more, it’s a great time to put out “Stay On Your Square”.”
